Clifton 9 GTX keeps the Clifton line’s plush cushioning but adds full waterproofing with GORE-TEX. The running feel is very similar — soft landings and a smooth roll — but now it handles rain, slush and wet trails much better.

The toe box is roomy and gives plenty of space up front, while the midfoot feels more standard in width. If you have very wide feet, try them on in store or consider a model specifically labeled wide.
